Our Graduate Nurse Intern Program provides a transition from Graduate Nurse to Registered Nurse. 

 

New graduate RN full-time positions may be offered on the following units (availability fluctuates for each start date based on campus needs):

 
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Graduate Nurse Intern:  Provides a transition from Graduate Nurse to Registered Nurse.  The GN Internship is a 12-week program offered to the following specialties:

Our multi-facility campus includes 148 acute-care beds at Metroplex Adventist Hospital in Killeen, 60 psychiatric care beds in the nearby Metroplex Behavioral Health Center, and 25 beds at Rollins Brook Community Hospital in Lampasas. Through this Metroplex Health System, we offer a Women’s Center, Sleep Disorder Center, Endoscopy Center, Pediatric Rehabilitation Center, ICU, PCU, ED, imaging, surgery, home health services, and more.

Our 224-bed hospital includes a medical ICU, cardiovascular ICU, PCU, open heart surgery center and behavioral health. In addition, we have accredited programs in orthopedics, chest pain, and inpatient diabetes, plus an award-winning emergency department.

Our 178-bed hospital includes a Level IV Emergency and Trauma Center, Women’s Center, Level II NICU, Sleep Improvement Center, Institute for Advanced Wound Care Healing, Rehabilitation Institute, home health and hospice care. Through our CREATION Health Institute, we also play an active role in offering free health education and community events to help support a healthy lifestyle.
Qualifications
What you will need:
  • Must be a graduate or soon to be graduate of an accredited school of nursing (CCNE or ACEN; formally known as NLNAC) within the US (not including US Territories). You must upload a copy of your completed, unofficial transcript(s). Transcripts must show your name, the degree obtained (or currently pursuing), and the cumulative GPA.
  • GN Certificate from the Texas Board of Nursing prior to start date
  • Current BLS from American Heart Association
  • New RN graduate or in last semester of nursing school
  • Current ACLS preferred
  • Previous work as a CNA, Student Nurse Tech, Triage Tech or EMT in an acute care setting preferred but not required.
  • Volunteer experience in an acute care setting preferred.
