You will be responsible for:
  • Is able to teach and assist others.
  • Works well independently with minimal supervision.
  • Operates portable image intensifier able to provide fluoroscopic assistance in the following procedures:  ERCP, esophageal dilations, bronchoscopy and colonic decompensations in endoscopy. Pacemaker, Swan-Ganz insertions, acid, intra-aortic balloon pumps in the ICU and Central Line Placements. Temporary/permanent spinal cord stimulator insertions, acetabular/pelvis fixation in the surgical setting.
  • Can perform specialized fluoroscopic procedures in the Radiology Department to include myelograms, arthrograms, lumbar punctures, hysterosalpinograms, nerve blocks, epidural steroid injections and discograms and can perform limited exams in surgery to include retrograde pyelograms, spinal laminectomies and intraoperative cholangiograms.

    • Resolves customer service issues in a timely and efficient manner, treating all customers with courtesy. Communicates issues to Supervisor.
    • Proficiently performs technical imaging procedures on different patient age groups and ability to teach the same.
    • Provides imaging procedures to all patients, regardless of sex, age or race.  Provides patients with efficient and courteous care.
    • Proficient on the proper use and operation of the specific imaging equipment and the department policies and procedures.
    • Cooperation, collaboration, diversity and teamwork.
    • Demonstrates effective communication, skills with all staff, patients, families and Imaging Services Administration.
    • Works with department staff to facilitate patient care across modalities.
    • Works in conjunction with other departments (I.E. OR, ED) to facilitate patient care.
    • Department Press Ganey Scores are achieved.
    • Cost reduction, expense management and effective use of supplies.
    • Efficient utilization of department supplies and resources.
    • Reports any equipment malfunctions and discontinues use before the problem leads to a more costly repair.
    • Performance Improvement/Accountability.
    • Proficiently performs technical imaging procedures safely and in accordance with FHT standards of care, selecting proper technical factors and proper patient position.
    • Is familiar and complies with appropriate JCAHO standards and directives. Able to teach the same.
    • Wears TLD Badge daily reviews radiation exposure reports and uses radiation restrictive devices on all examinations. Follow ALARA.
    • Follows Patient Identification/Verification Process prior to performing all patient exams/procedure.
    • Monitors and accesses patients during Exam/Procedure in accordance with established Guidelines.
    • Personal and professional growth.
    • Demonstrates evidence of continuous professional development.
    • Maintains satisfactory participation and attendance at required meetings and staff development programs.
What you will need:
  • Ability to learn and use radiology software packages such as Cerner, Radworks, PACS, Etc.
  • Ability to quickly learn and follow departmental policies and procedures.
  • Maintain responsibility for all required registries and licenses to perform Diagnostic Imaging.
  • Responsible to maintain all required FHT continuing and annual education.
  • Ability to follow basic radiation safety concepts of time, distance and shielding to keep exposure levels ALARA for patient and staff.
  • High School education or equivalent and graduate from an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology.
  • Associates Degree in a related field (preferred)
  • State of Florida Radiologic License
  • ARRT
